Level of questions for CUET (UG) -2022

All questions in various testing areas will be benchmarked at the level of Class XII only. Students having studied Class XII Board syllabus would be able to do well in CUET (UG) – 2022.

Number of attempts

Choice of Languages and Subjects

Generally the languages/subjects chosen should be the ones that a student has opted in his latest Class XII Board examination. However, if any University permits any flexibility in this regards, the same can be exercised under CUET (UG) -2022 also. Candidates must carefully refer to the eligibility requirements of various Central Universities in this regard. Moreover, if the subject to be studied in the Undergraduate course is not available in the list of 27 Domain Specific Subject being offered, the Candidate may choose the Subject closest to his choice for e.g. For Biochemistry the candidate may choose Biology.

13 languages ( Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi and Urdu)

Syllabus and Scheme of Examination

Written test shall consist of the following subjects:-

      1. English Language and grammar : Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts. – (20 Marks)
      2. Hindi Language and grammar : शब्द-रूपातरण, लिंग, वचन, कारक, काल, वाच्य, शुद्ध वर्तनी, मुहावरें एवं लोकोक्तियां, अलंकार के उदाहरण एवं प्रकार, संधि, समास, उपसर्ग एवं प्रत्यय – (10 Marks)
      3. Basic Computer Science : History of computers, Fundamentals of Computer and terminologies, Computer abbreviations, Basics of Hardware and software, Keyboard shortcuts, Operating system basics, Basic Functionalities of MS-Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Internet terms and services, Networking and communication, Security Tools and Viruses. – (20 Marks)


Note :-

      1. The question paper of Written Test shall be available in English language only except the paper of Hindi Language and Grammar which shall be in Hindi.
      2. The Keyboard Layout for Hindi Typing shall be “Remington Gail” and the font shall be “Mangal”.
      3. There shall not be negative marking for incorrect answers in the written test.

CBSE has released the scheme for conduct of Board’s Examinations, 2022 vide Circular No. Acad-51/2021 dated 05th July, 2021 wherein it was informed that Board’s examination – 2022 will be conducted in two terms i.e., Term-I and Term-Il examinations. Term-I examinations have already been over. Term-11 examinations are scheduled from 26.04.2022.

CBSE is now releasing the date sheet for both the classes X & XII for Term-II Board’s Examinations, 2022. While preparing the date sheet, Board has taken care of the following issues:

1. As the schools were closed due to pandemic which has led to learning losses, therefore, more gap has been given between the two examinations in almost all the subjects in both the classes.

2. Wherever the gap is a little lesser, such examinations have been kept at a later date so that students can get sufficient time for the preparation of these examinations.

3. Other competitive examinations including JEE Main have been taken care of while preparing the date sheet.

4. These date sheets have been prepared by avoiding nearly 35000 subjects’ combinations to ensure that no two subjects’ examinations of a student fall on the same date.

5. Despite of the fact that temperature would be on a little higher side, the time of start of the examination will be at 10.30 AM because it will not be possible. to start the examination earlier as examinations will be conducted in 26 more countries than that of India. Similarly, because of the same reason, examinations cannot be conducted in two shifts.
