RBI Office Assistant Recruitment 2026: Applications are invited from eligible candidates for 650 posts of ‘Assistant’ in the Reserve Bank of India, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Bank’. Selection for the post will be through a country-wide competitive examination in two phases, i.e., Preliminary and Main Examination, followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
Before applying, candidates should ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria for the advertised posts. Bank would admit to the Examination all the candidates applying for the post with the requisite fee/intimation charges (wherever applicable) based on the information furnished in the ONLINE application and shall determine their eligibility only at the final stage, i.e., document verification.
If at any stage, it is found that any information furnished in the ONLINE application is false/ incorrect, or if, according to the Bank, the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post, his/ her candidature will be cancelled.

Examination Fees/Intimation Charges
- SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Exs: Rs. 50/- + 18% GST
- GEN/ OBC/ EWS Candidates: Rs. 450/- + 18% GST

Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of examination fees/intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate.
Note:
- Applications without the prescribed Fee/ Intimation Charges shall be summarily rejected.
- Fee/ Intimation Charges once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances, nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
- Fee/ Intimation Charges are required to be paid only in the manner prescribed in this
advertisement.
Age Limit as on 01-02-2026
Minimum Age: 20 years
Maximum Age: 28 years
Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit – Upper age limit will be relaxed as under:-
- Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years, i.e., up to 33 years
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years, i.e., up to 31 years
Education Qualification
At least a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ ST/ PwBD candidates) in the aggregate and knowledge of word processing on PC.

* The Bank reserves the right to increase/ decrease the number of vacancies as per the requirement, or not to fill up the vacancies.
Bhopal includes 05 vacancies for Raipur; Guwahati includes 02 vacancies for Agartala, 01 for Aizawl, 02 for Imphal and 03 for Shillong; Kanpur & Lucknow include 29 vacancies for Kanpur and 21 for Lucknow; Kolkata includes 01 vacancy for Gangtok; Mumbai includes 23 vacancies for Belapur and 02 for Panaji; Patna includes 01 vacancy for Ranchi.
Selection Process
Selection will be through Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
Pay Scale
Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹29,000/- per month in the scale of ₹29000– 1700 (3) – 34100 – 2040 (4) – 42260 – 2720 (6) – 58580 – 2950 (2) – 64480 – 3370 (3) – 74590 – 4050 (1) – 78640 and other allowances, as admissible from time to time. At present, the initial Monthly Gross Emoluments (without HRA) for an Assistant will be approximately ₹58,514/-.
