Selection Process of Railway NTPC Graduation Level Admit Card 2026

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts the NTPC Graduate Level Exam to recruit candidates for various non-technical (NTPC) posts like Station Master, Goods Guard, Commercial Apprentice, Senior Clerk, Traffic Assistant, and Junior Accounts Assistant. The selection process consists of five main stages, which are explained below:-

01. Computer-Based Test (CBT – Stage 1)

  • This is the preliminary exam common to all posts.
  • It is an objective type (MCQs) and includes:
    • General Awareness
    • Mathematics General
    • Intelligence & Reasoning
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

02. Computer-Based Test (CBT – Stage 2)

  • Only qualified candidates from CBT 1 appear in CBT 2.
  • It has a higher difficulty level and more weightage in the final selection.
  • Subjects remain the same, but the question count increases:
    • General Awareness – 50
    • Mathematics – 35
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning – 35
  • Total Questions: 120
  • Duration: 90 minutes

03. Typing Skill Test / Computer Aptitude Test (as applicable)

  • For Clerk / Typist posts → Typing Skill Test
    • Must type 30 wpm (English) or 25 wpm (Hindi)
  • For Station Master / Traffic Assistant → Computer Aptitude Test (CBAT)
    • No negative marking in CBAT.
    • Must qualify each test battery separately.

04. Document Verification (DV)

  • Candidates who clear the required tests are called for Document Verification based on merit.

05. Medical Examination

Final Merit List.

  • The final selection is made based on marks obtained in CBT 2 and CBAT / Typing Test, followed by successful completion of document verification and medical test.

Question No. 01: Why is my admit card not visible yet?

Answer: The Railways issues the admit card just 4 days before the examination. If your exam is on March 20, your admit card will be available for download on March 16, 2026.

Question No. 02: Will entry be granted if I arrive late for the exam?

Answer: Absolutely not. Under no circumstances will entry be granted after the gate closing time (Reporting Time).

Question No. 03: Is a colour printout of the admit card mandatory?

Answer: It is not strictly necessary, but the print must be clear so that your photo and QR code can be easily scanned.
