Applications for admission to Class Nursery, Prep, I, VI, IX, and XI are accepted through online mode only.
Since Jamia Millia Islamia has been declared a Muslim Minority Institution as per the law laid down by the Supreme Court, the Right to Education Act 2009 (R.T.E Act 2009) does not apply to Jamia Millia Islamia.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Class Nursery, Prep, I, VI, IX, and XI
For Class Nursery, Prep, and Class I
For admission to Nursery, Prep. And in Class I, a birth certificate should be issued by the Gram Panchayat and attested by the B.D.O./Tehsildar, or it should be issued by the concerned officer of the Town Area Municipal Board/Corporation. This certificate will only be accepted for admission to Nursery and Prep. In case of admission to class I, the Birth Certificate issued by the previous school will also be validated.
For Class VI, IX, & XI
For admission to class VI, it is essential to submit a Statement of Marks/Grade Card of the qualifying examination. The candidates should have passed the Class V examination.
For admission to class VI and IX, the Birth Certificate issued by the previous school, and for class XI, the date of Birth as mentioned in the certificate of class X issued by the Concerned Board of Examination will be valid for admission.

General Guidelines of Jamia School Admission 2026
- There is no guarantee of the school’s hostel accommodation as the University has limited residential facilities for students.
- The Application for admission shall be available only in online mode at Jamia Millia Islamia Website https://admission.jmi.ac.in; & www.jmi.ac.in. There is no printed/offline application form for admission.
- No candidate shall be entitled to claim admission as a matter of right.
- The verification of documents of the students admitted in various schools of the university shall be done by the Principal/Officer of the School.
- Candidates are strongly advised to regularly check the University website (https://admission.jmi.ac.in; http://jmi.ac.in) for admission-related notices and other information.
- There is no provision of nomination on any seat by any authority of Jamia, and no application/ request shall be entertained in this regard.

- The Application fee may be paid either by Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking only.
- The Application Fee, once received at JMI’s end, is non-refundable,e and no correspondence on this subject will be entertained.
- The JMI shall only refund the Application Fee in cases of failed transactions identified at JMI’s end.
- Candidates are advised to read carefully and follow the instructions provided online during the Form Submission Process.
- Candidate’s Registration: Entry of the Basic Profile of the candidate.
- Entrance Application Submission: Choosing of class, stream (for all classes), category, and payment of the Entrance Application Fee of Rs. 500/-.
