CLAT 2026 Online Application Form – Apply Now for UG & PG Law Entrance Exam, Open from 01 August 2025 @consortiumofnlus.ac.in

CLAT 2026 Online Application Form: The Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities (the “Consortium”) at their Meetings held on July 20th, 2025, decided that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 shall be conducted on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, from 2 PM-4 PM. The portal for applying for the CLAT 2026 will become functional from the 1st of August 2025 and will remain so until 31st October 2025, the last date of application for CLAT 2026.

About CLAT 2026

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 24 National Law Universities in India. CLAT is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities, comprising representative universities. Several affiliate universities and organisations also use the CLAT exam for admissions and recruitment, respectively.

Important Dates of CLAT 2026 Online Application Form

    • Apply Online Start Date: 01 August 2025
    • Last Date of Application: 31 October 2025
    • Examination Date: Sunday, December 7th, 2025, from 2 PM-4 PM.

Application Fee of the CLAT 2026 Online Application Form

    • Application fee for General/OBC/PWD/NRI candidates: Rs. 4,000/-
    • Application fee for SC/ST/BPL category candidates: Rs. 3,500/-

Application fees can be paid online only. The candidates themselves will have to bear the bank transaction charges for remitting the fee online. The actual bank transaction charges will be displayed in the payment gateway page after candidates choose the mode of payment. Application Fees are non-refundable. The payment through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI fee mode only.

CLAT 2026 UG Exam Eligibility

Age Limit

    • There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the UG Programme through the CLAT 2026.

Education Qualification

Candidates who have passed in 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of:

    1. Forty-five percent (45%) of marks or its equivalent in grade. OR
    2. Forty Percent (40%) of marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.

CLAT 2026 PG Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

    • There is no upper age limit for appearing for the CLAT 2026.

Education Qualification

An LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of fifty percent (50%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/NRI categories and forty-five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories.

CLAT 2026 Online Application Form Question Format

Multiple-Choice Questions: 120 questions of one mark each.

Maximum Marks: 120

Duration of CLAT 2026: Exam 02:00 Hours

Negative Marking: 0.25 Mark for each wrong answer

Subject Areas with weightage:

English Language: 22-26 questions, or roughly 20% of the paper.

Current Affairs, including General Knowledge: 28-32 questions, or roughly 25% of the paper.

Legal Reasoning: 28-32 questions, or roughly 25% of the paper.

Logical Reasoning: 22-26 questions, or roughly 20% of the paper.

Quantitative Techniques: 10-14 questions, or roughly 10% of the paper.
